Bruce Gossett was an integral part of the San Francisco 49ers for four seasons between 1966 and 1969. In 1966, Gossett was drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. He immediately made an impact in his rookie season, setting a record for the most field goals in a single game (6) on October 2, 1966 against the Atlanta Falcons. He also led the NFL in scoring for kickers that same year, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl.
Gossett continued to be a reliable kicker for the 49ers throughout his career. He was known for his accuracy and strong leg, making him a valuable asset for the team. He played in 57 games for the 49ers, converting 74 field goals out of 141 attempts, with a career-long of 52 yards.
